No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV
Today is a perfect day to get off the pity pot and start anew. The bible tells us to get understanding above all else. “A good understanding helps us decipher what’s what.” It also shows us whose in control of what or responsible for specific consequences.
That said, God wants his children to understand this; “He doesn’t tempt you to do things unbecoming of Him.” There’s another power to credit for that. It is the dark one, the tempter and enemy of God, it is Satan.
Satan is a god of darkness and the one who survives, because so many people repeatedly regress to reliving the past, over and over again. My mom used to say “people like this are like elephants, pooping and steping back in it.”
While it’s impossible to exist in this world and bypass tests or avoid temptation, Knowing, accepting and understanding God’s Word, makes successfully dealing with either highly possible.” Yield not to temptation, because God has already given you a way out. Sound familiar?
The end result to yielding to temptation is always sin.
They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. Luke 8:13
There is a right way and a wrong way to live your life, neither offers a rite of perfection.
“Face it, you will make mistakes, stumble and fall; but God expects you to ask Him to correct, allow Him to straighten your path and reach for His hand when He offers to pull you up out of the pits of darkness.
When bad choices begin to define your life, God expects you to take ownership of them, while acknowledging He was not a party to your plan. My Lord has never been the tempter, but always the Savior.
“The past can be a powerful training ground, if get understanding and stop stepping back in it.” Look to the hills from which cometh your help, where you’ll find the God of your future not your past.
