The Devil’s Kingdoms

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Matthew 4: 8-10

Sin City, officially Vegas is a perfect example of a kingdom like looking place. It has that city atmosphere Satan would use to tempt people like you and me. Yes, I’m not talking about everybody else, I’m talking about everybody and anybody likely to fall prey to Satan’s succulent temptations.

Bright lights, big city, who wouldn’t be excited. The problem is when we allow Satan to trick us into thinking lights never go out. Vegas, the city that never sleeps, is known as a place where many people’s lives turn into nightmares. They go there looking for fame, fortune and fantasy, often returning, or not, spiritually, emotionally and always financially broken.

The devil does some of his best work in places like Vegas. Next up, Hollywood, City of Dreams. Notice, both places exude and promote idolatrous lifestyles. Those who lose their way, do so because they loved something or someone very deeply and more than God. Whether it’s money, glitz & glam, prestige, popularity, fame, sex or the like, the end result of allowing Satan to tempt you is death.

“Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.” Matthew 4: 8-11

Never forget, Satan’s intent is always to seek, kill and destroy. What better way to destroy than take away everything good, so he can replace it with pain, sorrow, disappointment and loss of salvation. When the devil took Jesus up on the mountain and showed him all of his kingdoms ;Jesus was not amused, amazed or moved to trade eternal life for temporary gratification. Jesus saw right through the devil.

To carryout evil, one must become evil, calculated and crafty. It even helps to carry around a bag full of psychological tricks and be ruthless.

That’s not who I wanna be, how about you?
