Like it or not, this is the day the Lord has made.
The message in church today was about thanking God for everything, every chance you get. You must trust him to bring you out. Know He’s got a plan, even if you don’t understand it. Forgive those who’ve hurt you, move on, but keep being thankful for what God has already done for you. It was also about having faith God will do even more, if you stop resisting his invitation. In other words, God loves a willing worker, cheerful giver, of everything and a heart that forgives others as He forgave us.
You’ll be surprised to know you can’t successfully do any one of the things above, without doing all of them.
Pastor also talked about what happens when you’re ungrateful, remiss in showing the Lord thanks or feel like you deserve more than you got. Yes, I have a pastor again. I like his vision and his direction of the church. I’ve been going there about a year now and I really really like what I see. I’m not saying this church is perfect, I am going to become a member. Pastor warns his church is not perfect, no church is. However, I can say The Christian Family Center in Muncie, Indiana, under the direction of Pastor Steve Muncey makes a strong attempt to address social ills, like feeding the hungry, visiting prisons, and my favorite; the church makes leading young people to Christ a priority. They have a place for them and things for them to do in that place. I’ve never seen a church, willing to address this magnitude of spiritual and physical needs of everyday people. I’m so thankful my daughter invited to go to church with her last year.
Now, back to the importance of showing God thanks and not showing him thanks. Don’t be the person who doesn’t have time to thank God.
In short I can tell you right now, you don’t want to be that person.
The bible says,
“21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.”
” Romans 1:21-24
Thank you Lord for redirecting my mind this morning. You reminded me once again of just how blessed I am.
Give God thanks today, no matter how bad things seem they could be worse.
